During a press conference in Brussels on Tuesday, Stano said that reaching a final agreement would ensure full implementation of the JCPOA, but had not yet reached the end line.
Referring to the remaining time for resuming Vienna talks, he added that the European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell and his team are trying to wrap up the Vienna talks.
He highlighted that Josep Borrell is working his best to ensure that we return to full implementation of this significant agreement.
Regarding Iran's counter-measures following the passage of an anti-Iranian resolution by the IAEA Board of Governors, he said, "We are worried", and that is why "we must return" to full implementation of the JCPOA.
As coordinators, "we do our best" to help contributors reach an agreement and ensure that the JCPOA is fully implemented. But this is a diplomatic process and "we do not comment" on the content of the talks, he underscored.
The United States under the then President Donald Trump withdrew from the JCPOA in 2018 and resumed all sanctions lifted by the deal, putting the existence of the deal and the remaining parties' compliance at risk.
Iran remained committed to the terms of the deal for a year after the US withdrawal but reduced its compliance in five steps to reciprocate the US pull-out.
US President Joe Biden vowed to rejoin the nuclear deal after he took office in 2021, but he has so far failed to undo the measure Trump took to spoil the JCPOA.
Earlier, the US and three European countries of Britain, Germany, and France offered an anti-Iran draft resolution to the IAEA BoG based on allegations made by the Zionist regime on Iranian nuclear activities.
The anti-Iran resolution was approved with 30 votes in favor, two votes against (Russia and China), and three abstentions (India, Libya, and Pakistan).
In reaction to the approval of the resolution, the Islamic Republic of Iran halted certain collaborations with the IAEA, which were beyond safeguards agreements and were conducted by Iranians to show their good faith.
The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) issued a statement, declaring that the Islamic Republic has so far shown extensive cooperation with the IAEA, which has not been appreciated, so the AEOI decided that beyond safeguards cameras measuring On-Line Enrichment Monitor (OLEM) and flowmeter to be deactivated.
